Ibryaev

I am the artist Ilya Ibryaev. I live, paint, work and give watercolor masterclasses in Moscow. But I do regularly attend exhibitions, biennale and other art events in other cities, including abroad.

My main focus and interest in my creative work is character of light and air in watercolors. I give a lot of time to these subjects. I work using alla prima technique.

Watercolors have been of great interest for me since I was a child. Through watercolor paintings I started seeing the beauty of the world around me in a completely new way, I immersed myself into the very atmosphere of esthetics I’m trying to convey in my works and express everything I got to feel at the moment. In addition to watercolors, I happened to work in other media, such as oil, ceramics, sculpture. But the unpredictability and mystery of watercolors allow an artist to show the things that are impossible to express in oils.

I think what says the most about an artists is his or her works, but, for the record, I’ll list my main milestones and achievements:

I’ve completed my study at:
- Art studio
- Art vocational school, painting department
- Moscow State Academy of Arts (former Stroganov School), department of ceramics

I am:
- a Member of Artists Union of Russia
- a Member of International Federation of Watercolor Painters

I represent:
- IWS (International Watercolor Society) Russia

I was awarded with:
- a Diploma of the First International Art Salon “Way of Unity”
