I paint every day. For me, painting is my job - daily, interesting, creative job.
How come there is no inspiration? When I’m falling asleep in the night, I’m already thinking about what I’m going to paint tomorrow!
I never lay my ideas on a shelve. It might take me several hours to several days to go from the moment of birth of an idea to the moment the painting is ready.
I rarely do commissions. In order for me to take on a subject, I have to be interested in it myself.
Various painting techniques are beautiful. There are great oil artists and works, but when you fall in love with watercolors, it’s impossible to go to any other medium - watercolors won’t let you go anywhere!
One needs to learn how to interact with watercolors correctly and quickly and it’s important to remember that, until the paper is dry, everything can change, any water drop can both ruin the painting and make it second to none.
TEACHING

FEW FACTS ABOUT THE ARTIST
Ion Carchelan is a Moldovan artist, born on October 04, 1966.
When he was a child, he attended the art school in Nisporeni.
Later, he graduated from the Repin’s Art School in Kishinev (current name is Plamădeală Arts College).
Since 1997, Ion has been taking part in art exhibitions, festivals and biennale, amounting to tens of solo and collective exhibitions in different countries from around the world. Ion’s works were in the USA, Israel, France, Spain, Italy, China, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Austria, Turkey and, of course, in his homeland - Moldova. His works are displayed in galleries and museums and are in private collections.

For me, watercolor is euphoria the artist can lose themselves in. Yes, sometimes it’s better to let the paints to play their own game - to an extent, but be ready to take control and be precise. The most challenging aspect of this medium is to learn to interact with watercolors.

О себе и творчестве
Я пишу каждый день. Для меня рисование — это работа ежедневная, интересная, творческая работа.
Разве может не быть вдохновения? Когда я вечером закрываю глаза — уже думаю о том, что нарисую завтра!
Никогда не откладываю в долгий ящик — от замысла до написания картины у меня может пройти от нескольких часов до нескольких дней.
По заказу я пишу редко — сюжет должен быть интресен мне самому, для того, чтобы я взялся его реализовывать.
Разная живопись прекрасна, есть замечательные художники и хорошие работы маслом, но когда ты влюбляешься в акварель, то уже не можешь перейти в другие техники — акварель не отпускает тебя никуда! Нужно научиться правильно и быстро взаимодействовать с акварелью, и помнить, что пока не высохла бумага — все может измениться, любая капля воды может как испортить всю картину, так и сделать ее неповторимой.

Первые выставки и первые мастер-классы Иона прошли в США, и гораздо позже они появились в других странах. Сейчас Ион Каркелан не только проводит двухдневные занятия, но и снимает водеоуроки по акварели, которые вы можете найти на нашем сайте и здесь — на странице эксперта.

Ион Каркелан — молдавский художник, родился 4 октября 1966 года.
В детстве учился в художественной школе в г. Ниспорень. Потом закончил художественное училище им. Ильи Репина в Кишиневе (современное название колледж изобразительных искусств им. Плэмэдялэ). С 1997 года начал участвовать в художественных выставках, фестивалях и биенале — десятки персональных и групповых выставок в разных странах, в разных частях света. Работы художника побывали В США и Израиле, Франции, Испании, Италии, Китае, Грузии, Азербайджане, Австрии, Турции и. конечно, на родине в Молдове. Они выставляются в галереях и музеях, хранятся в частных коллекциях.
