Amit Kapoor is one of the leading masters of watercolor medium from India. He has been recognized with top international honors for his paintings and his art graces the walls of many private and state galleries. Amit Kapoor finds an ultimate bliss while painting and for him art is just like Meditation. His art goes into the very soul of the viewer. Among the subjects that he chooses are old streets and markets, railroad stations and underground stations, piers and temples with game of light and shadow being the main feature. The most beloved subjects of Amit Kapoor are railroad related and he beautifully captures the hustle bustle of the platforms and the smoke of the engines in his paintings. The artists travels India and Europe a lot, sharing with the viewers his bright impressions and sunlit streets - they have a character and won’t leave anyone untouched.
In 2001, Amit Kapoor founded Anitoons The School of Art and Animation (New Delhi) and he has been the principal of it ever since.
He is a guest lecturer in many prestigious art colleges of India, such as College of Art (Delhi), Apeejay Institute of Design, Jamia Millia Islamia, Meerabai Institute of Technology. He was also in the jury panel of Jaipur Animation Film Festival (JAFF). Amit Kapoor gives many watercolor masterclasses outside India.
