It’s no coincidence that the old town of Honfleur in Lower Normandy is called ‘an artists’ town’! Its every nook is worth painting. It’s not a prop town, it hasn’t been contaminated by modern buildings – people here live in the authentic setting – just like centuries ago. Beautiful are its streets and parks, harbor and pier, stone towers and a wooden church. And the artist Sergey Kurbatov was lucky enough to see Honfleur from the top. Mass of the roofs going over the town in front of the limitless sunrise-lit sky have inspired him to paint this landscape.
