You’ll master painting in watercolors a Southern city about to wake up and deep dive into the greenery of flood-meadows. The artist Sergey Kurbatov shares his professional knowledge and techniques, talks about painting morning light in a landscape keeping all the colors soft. The expert is going to show how to design your composition and arrange different planes of a painting, being foreground, midground and background. Course outline

lesson 1
01:29
Intermediate
Marseille in the morning
Marseille is a noisy, hot, true French port. But in the morning, it’s calm and quiet. It’s only during this time of day that we’re able to see and paint these light-weighted shadows in the narrow streets, light-colored sky and soft light on the old buildings.
lesson 2
01:56
Intermediate
Flood-meadow
Calmness and quietness of the morning meadow are not easy to show. We’re going to carefully create a multi-layered landscape, making sure to create an impressive three-dimensionality. We’re going to work with a lace of the tree foliage and a very special transparent air.
lesson 3
02:02
Intermediate
Port of Honfleur
This Normandy port of Honfleur, well-beloved by impressionist painters, amazes the viewer with its picturesque bay, reflections of the old buildings and snow-white boats. We’re going to design the composition, working with tonal values and making dark objects light.
lesson 4
01:10
Intermediate
Mountains
Let’s give us permission to express our emotions and give way to color and light. We’re capturing a fascinating moment when the foreground has already been flooded with sunlight, but the mountains are still covered in shadows. We’ll be learning how to create contrast, sharp edges and transitions. We’re going to work in different ways, both on wet and on dry.

Наслаждаюсь каждым уроком! Под руководством Сергея не страшно экспериментировать с красками и разными приемами. И когда из хаоса цветовых пятен начинает получаться картина - это восторг!

I am considered a beginner been trying to paint around 1 year now. After so many failures i decided to purchased these lessons as i really like his styles. Loose and bright, very delicate. What i love about all the lessons are: 1. They are above beginner level. Have couraged. The guidance are very clear eventho they are translations. 2. The drawings were simplified especially architectural drawings. He used dots to mark his drawings and connect the lines. I can't draw straight lines. This really helps. 3. No need expensive paints. The paints he was using are the most affordable in my country and they mix into beautiful bright colours. I learn the trick is to mix mix mix. 4. The wet into wet techniques. The was the key i was looking for. I thought i knew it but actually never undertsands it. Hence, why his paintings look so elusive. Looking forward for more of his lessons. Thank you Mr Kurbatov and Enterclass.

The courses were very good and it was beautifully explained by sir. I wish theses courses were accessible for lifetime having paid for them. I am a working person and do not get enough time daily to practice art.

I enjoyed Sergei’s lessons. Having the lessons broken down into parts was helpful. Some of the videos would not play sometimes, but if I exited the course and returned, they would play. I wished for more time to view the videos. Thank you for having 4 lessons. It was a lot of information. Sincerely, Deb Smith
