About the course

This course has English subtitles.

It’s winter. The trees and houses are sleeping. Fluffy snowdrifts and flakes of snow, houses, people, animals – they are all submerged in a echoing quietness. This quietness can be painted in different ways. Together with Marina Daykovskaya, you’ll be painting this fantasy story with several characters and planes. In this snowy and soft watercolor, there is a place for figure drawing, portrait, animal and landscape. We’ll draw our inspiration from Bruegel, but we’re not going to reproduce any of his works, but instead, we’re going to use his color palette and a Bruegel-like view from outside.

NB! When simultaneously adding several masterclasses from a series “Snow Stories” (Bavaria. Kulmbach) to cart, every additional one becomes cheaper!

Outcome of the course

  • you’ll learn how to create a fantasy scene
  • you’ll practice wet on wet technique
  • you’ll create a solid composition with several characters
  • you’ll combine figures and background landscape in a single painting
  • you’ll paint a watercolor full of the snow and kindness

Intermediate
Birdcatchers
Birdcatchers under the snowfall. Alive and tangible, they might be looking carefully at the road, or maybe they’ve stopped for rest. Marina Daykovskaya is second to none in how she teaches to paint and tell stories using paints. What might look like just shapes and lines, turns out to be a bright flush, flakes of snow and a tired look of a donkey.
