Why is it so hard to draw a human? The reason is that a human is always in motion. A landscape or architecture can be still, but a human can’t. There are muscles and thoughts going into motion, he or she overflows with emotions. By looking at a pose, an artist ‘reads’ and transfers them onto paper – in that case, a drawing is going to be realistic and lively. In this course by Lev Kaplan, you’ll dip your toe into the basics of anatomy for drawing, learn proportions of different human figures, you’ll be depicting a human in a tonal drawing and using simple shapes. But the most importantly, you’ll stop being afraid and you’ll see how to draw effortlessly and easily, even without using reference photos.
